Good Monday to you, Dare 2B Atrzy friends!!
Janette here sharing with you two fun birthday balloon cards!
Today’s featured technique is masking. So easy with simple shapes – and coloring with Zig markers makes this card a snap. I use full stick Post-It notes, normally in just the standard size. Leave 3 or so layers together, stamp your image onto them, and fussy cut the stack together.
Next, begin by stamping a few Birthday Balloons on your paper that do not touch. I prefer to use Bristol paper when working with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. It is smooth and keeps the ink on top of the paper, for easy blending, before it dries at a normal rate. Then mask and stamp an overlapping image. Only mask the images that will interfere with your next image. Remember that the images you stamp first will appear to be in the front.
I began by laying a thick line of color to the bottom left of each balloon, and then blended up to the right with a water brush filled with clear water. Achieve the watercolor blooms by adding small drops of clear water where you would like a highlight. My paper was 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. I filled the whole page, colored it and then trimmed it for 2 cards. Heat emboss the birthday sentiment and add a few sequins for sparkle!
