Hello there! It’s Andrea with you today, and I’m delighted to be back for my second guest-designer post. While I’m drawn to adorable critters like the cute llama from Spit Happens, I love flowers, too, and was excited to play with the gorgeous Blossom stamp set.

Now, I confess that watercoloring of any kind is outside my comfort zone, but it’s always good to challenge one’s self, right? While this didn’t turn out quite like I wanted, I figure it’s pretty darn good for my second attempt at this style. To achieve the faux no-line look, I loaded the image onto the lid of my MISTI and colored the various portions with distress markers before stamping onto watercolor paper. I used Spun Sugar for the flowers and Shappy Shutters for the leaves and stems.

I watercolored the blossoms with Picked Raspberry distress ink and the leaves and stems with Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint distress inks. I colored the flowers’ centers directly with a Squeezed Lemonade distress marker. Once my image was dry, I watercolored the background with Mermaid Lagoon distress ink and added some shading with colored pencils.

After trimming down my panel, I wrapped some gold twine around it and popped it up with foam tape onto a pink mat. Using the Thanks Die, I die-cut the word “thanks” four times from white cardstock, layered them together, and adhered the word to my card. I masked part of a sentiment from Blossom, stamped it with Versamark, and white heat-embossed it onto a strip of pink cardstock. I adhered the strip to my card and finished with a few clear sequins.
