Hi crafters! I hope this post finds you well. This year, I celebrated a milestone birthday, and we got a puppy. Both are inspiration for today’s card project. [And] who doesn’t like a cute puppy birthday card?!!! The products I’m using today can be found at Dare 2B Artzy.
I start with a standard A2 size card base with a top fold. I cut a separate piece of card stock (black) and use this card panel as a layer on top of the card base. It measures 1/8 inch border on all sides. On the top layer, I trim down two pieces of Artzy paper. The floral print and plaid pattern paper is from the All the Buzz Collection Variety Pack. I like the color coordination, as it adds to the overall design of this cute puppy birthday card. Next, I separate the pattern paper with a strip of black card stock.
Once I decide on the pattern paper background, I stamp and color the puppy and his birthday hat. This little guy is from the Puppy Kisses Stamp Set. I use the matching die set, Puppy Kisses Die, to cut out the images. For the sentiment, from the same stamp set, I heat emboss using white embossing powder on black card stock.
To frame the sentiment, I use the Hello Word Die frame. Using two cuts, I frame the sentiment on the left side, make the first cut, then rotate 180°. I reposition the frame on the right side of the sentiment and make the second cut. Pretty cool, right?!
To assemble the card, I adhere the plaid pattern paper on to the top half of the black card panel. I follow with the black strip and floral pattern paper. Next, I add foam adhesive on the puppy and sentiment for dimension. I adhere that onto the pattern paper background. I finish off the card with Wink of Stella, Glossy Accents, and enamel drop embellishments. What do you think?! I’d love for you to leave a comment below.
