Hello Artzy friends! It’s Tonya with the Dare 2B Artzy Design Team. Today, I have a new card featuring the HOT, new Make Waves Hot Foil Plate from Dare 2B Artzy!
I had so much fun playing and foiling all kinds of things with the new release hot foil plates from Dare 2B Artzy.
You can check out the video for this card over on the Dare 2B Artzy YouTube channel
The new plates are called; Make Waves, Artzy Deco, Night Sky and Triangle Accent. These new items are so awesome! I can’t stop foiling all of the things.
I foiled several backgrounds onto some Hammermill 100lb Cover Cardstock and a few others I was trying out. I decided to use the Make Wave one that I foiled with the Spellbinders Moondust Glimmer Foil. I love the gorgeous iridescent color of this foil. It’s absolutely stunning when it hits the light.
Next, I used the Double Dot Circle Framelets die which measured 2 7/8 and cut a circle from my Make Waves foiled background. I cut two more circles of the same size from some Neenah 110lb cardstock.
Using my Neon Karin Brush markers, I scribbled a little bit of marker onto my glass crafting mat and then sprayed a small amount of water in a different area. I added a bit of Tonic Nuvo Shimmer pen to the water and mixed it a bit with my paint brush.
I used a pretty fine paint brush, dipped it into small amount of water and picked up some of the Karin Brush marker color. I was careful not to use too much water as I didn’t know how well the Hammermill Cover cardstock that I’d foiled on would take it since it’s not designed for water. I used alternating colors of Karin Brush Markers in Neon Blue, Neon Yellow Green, Neon Violet and Neon Violet Blue and colored in each wave until they were all filled in. I set the circle aside to dry overnight. Once it was dry, I used some liquid glue to adhere the two other circles I cut from cardstock. My foiled watercolor piece was a little warped so I felt that the added cardstock layers would help keep it flat.
I stamped the floral cluster and an additional flower from the Scandinavian Songbirds stamp set with some Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink and colored the images with my Copic markers. I tried to use some colors that would compliment the colors I used on the foiled section. For my flowers I used; RV13, RV14 and RV19 for the largest flowers, YG01, YG23 and YG08 for the small flowers, BG01 and BG05 for the small berries/buds and BG70, BG72, BG76 and BG02 for the leaves.
Once everything was colored, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.
To create my card base, I used a A2 size top folding card base from Neenah 110lb cardstock and added a base layer from some black cardstock. On top of that I used the largest Rectangle Framelets Die and cut it from some 110lb cardstock to layer over the black cardstock using some dimensional foam.
Finally, I added the colored flowers around the edge of the circle. To keep them level with the dimension of my circle, I added a small amount of dimensional foam on back of the flowers outer edges and liquid glue to the inner edges and that kept them flat against the circle.
For the sentiment, I stamped and heat embossed the Thank You sentiment from the Scandinavian Songbirds and cut it out using the coordinating die. I added the sentiment to the circle with a bit of dimensional foam as well.
Since the card already had the gorgeous Moondust Foil and the shimmer I added to the flowers and the watercolor, I didn’t add any other embellishments keeping the card pretty clean and simple.
