Hello artzy friends… Helen is here. Today I wanna share with you all one of the ways of using the new Hot Air Balloon Slimline Die. I used the inlaid die cutting technique to make this slimline card. This technique is fun and for me it is also relaxing becuase it feels like I play with puzzle pieces.
First, I cut all the cardstocks with the Hot Air Balloon Slimline Die. The cardstocks I used are white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, magenta, and purple. Yes… they are the rainbow colors!!! I put all the pieces of each color separately in a coffee filter.
To make inlaid die cutting easier, I used the Press-n-Seal plastic to hold all the piece in place. I put the white panel upside down on the plastic. then I started filling the spaces with the pieces for the other colors.
This is how it looks from the back of the panel. Carefully I added double-sided tape on the panel. This is when I was so glad that I decided to use the Press-n-Seal plastic, that held each piece in place and I did have to worry about they moved when I added the tape on it.
After that, I carefully removed the Press-n-Seal plastic of the panel. I removed the backing of the double sided tape and I added the finished Hot Air Balloon inlaid die cutting background panel on the front of the card. I used bone folder to firmly press the panel on the card.
You can just leave it as it is without sentiment or you also can add sentiment with any of the Artzy word dies or stamp sets.
I decided to add the sentiment on this card using the Hello Word Die. I cut a piece of black cardstock for the word hello and a piece of white cardstock for the word background mat. I stacked them together with dries-clear permanent adhesive and I added it on the card with 3D foam tape.
I love how it turned out! Isn’t that one colorful and fun card? I hope you can try this inlaid technique using any of the Artzy Dies! Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have wonderful day!!!
