Hello there, Carrie Rhoades sharing here on the Dare 2B Artzy Blog today. I am so excited to sharing the new Fruit Loop stamp set with you today! At first glance this set seems so simple, but it really has a lot of versatility! I am also playing with a new slimline die set for todays card, the Wavy Slimline Border Dies.
To start with I die cut the angled panel from yellow card stock using one of the Wavy Slimline Border dies. Then I stamped the entire panel using the cluster of circles stamp with a clear pigment ink. Then I embossed the panel with clear embossing powder. Embossing this panel really made the images stand out. I layered this panel onto a darker yellow card stock that I die cut using another of the Wavy Slimline borders.
The white panel of this card is 8-1/4″ x 3-1/4″. I stamped the image in the Fruit Loop stamp set that is a line image of a piece of cereal in Antique Linen distress ink multiple times on this panel. I used this ink because I wanted to do some no line coloring to make my images look like Fruit Loops.
I used two shades of each color to create a Fruit Loop. I outlined with my darker color and colored in with my lighter. I was not worried at all about trying to draw a perfect circle because this cereal is not a perfect t circle, they are bumpy. And I wanted my cereal to have the look of floating in milk.
To give them the look of floating in milk I used C2 and C0 Copic Markers to give each piece of cereal a shadow on the outer left side and a dot in the center as well, creating shadows and depth. Then I highlighted each piece with a gelly roll pen on the opposite side.
The sentiment fit perfectly in the second to smallest circle die from the Double Dot Circle Framelit die set. I thought embossing the sentiment with white powder on black card stock would really pop on this card.
The accent shapes around the sentiment are from the Wavy Slimline Border die set. They also have the piercing around the edges as do all the dies in this set. But I covered each of these accent pieces with some glaze and then sprinkled on some chunky glitter to finish it off.
Side note, the small circle die in the Wavy Slimline Border set, die cuts the “single piece of cereal” images from the Fruit Loop stamp set and it what I used to die cut the cereal pieces for the inside of my card.
That finishes up the card. I love adding a little something on the inside of my card to tie in what’s going on on the outside of the card.
Here are the two new products that I featured in today’s card if you’d like to check them out.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you Dare 2B Artzy soon!
Happy Stamping,
Carrie Rhoades
