Honey Bloomz to the Rescue
Hi Artzy friends! It’s Tonya from Krafty Enchantments. I’m popping in today to share my card that I created using some of the Honey Bloomz paper pack and the Shine Floral dies.
As the title of this post suggests, Dare 2B Artzy came to my rescue with the awesome new papers that coordinate with several of the new dies.
I’m in the midst of a move to a new home. In planning for this card, I’d thought I had set aside the stamps with the dies I was going to use. However when I set out to work on my card, I realized that the stamps had been boxed up and already taken to our new place. We’re sort of in limbo between two places right now which is proving to be a bit of a challenge. For a split second I’d panicked because I had the whole card planned out and didn’t have a Plan B. Thankfully, Dare 2B Artzy’s Honey Bloomz paper came to the rescue.
The new Dare 2B Artzy 12 x 12 papers are not only gorgeous, but several of them also have a nice benefit because the dies for the new stamps also work on the papers as well. How awesome is that when you don’t have time to color an image or in my case have boxed up and already moved your stamps?
To create my card, I used the coordinating Honey Bloomz paper and the matching Shine Florals dies and cut them out with my die cutting machine. They cut perfectly and were ready to pop onto my card – even the cute little bee.
I did add a bit of shading on the large sunflower and the bee using my Copic markers.
My embossed panel was created using a hexagon embossing folder I found while purging and packing my craft supplies. I embossed a piece of watercolor paper and used my clarity brushes to brush on some yellow ink and some denim colored ink around the outer corners to give it a bit of contrast.
For the sentiment, thankfully I’d managed to set aside the new BEE-utiful stamp set. I stamped the Remember the Bumble Bee sentiment onto a piece of white cardstock with some black Versafine Ink. Next, I brushed on some yellow and blue ink to coordinate with my embossed background. I covered the entire piece with clear embossing powder to give it a bit of a dewy finish. Finally, I die cut the sentiment with a fishtail flag die.
My card base is an A2 size cut from 110lb Neenah Solar White Cardstock. I added a piece of the navy blue plaid Dare 2B Artzy paper cut just slightly smaller. My hexagon panel was added with the die cut flowers popped up using some dimensional foam. I added the sentiment with a double layer of dimensional foam.
Since I couldn’t stamp the bee flight tracks onto my embossed background, I used a micron pen and drew it onto the background.
To finish the card, I added a bit of sparkle to the flowers using a clear Spectrum Noir sparkle pen and I added a brown glimmer dot to the center of the sunflower.
This card came together very quickly with the help of the Dare 2B Artzy coordinating papers. They are perfect when you want to create a beautiful card quickly.
Hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card and have been inspired to try to create some beautiful cards with the new papers and dies.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
Tonya
