Hello Artzy fans, it’s Teri again, from Papier Fetiche. Spring is “All the Buzz” and today I’m sharing an easel card design that I made with D2BA’s, All the Buzz Paper Collection, and the Spring is Blooming stamp set. So colorful, and perfect for the spring vibe that I wanted!
The first thing that I did was die cut the easel card out of white card stock. The die is one that I’ve had in my collection forever…it’s my go-to, and I use it all the time. I really like making easel cards because the people receiving them can keep them on display for a bit and enjoy them.
The next thing I did was cover the white cardstock that I made the card with. I used a combination of All a Bloom and Sweet as Honey papers. Then I wanted to focus on the sentiment, and of course with these papers, I knew that I wanted it to say something about spring. The D2BA’s, Spring is Blooming Stamp Set is perfect!! And there are so many options that I could use with this set…but I ended up choosing sweet and simple, “Happy Spring”. It says it all! I used black ink on bright white cardstock. I then used pink, yellow and turquoise inks to stamp the dots that surround the sentiment.
After cutting the sentiment out, I framed it with a few colors and placed it in the middle of the card. I later decided to add colored rhinestones and place them over the dots, just to add a little bling. It never hurts!
Now from here, it was all fussy cutting, and boy did I! I used four of the papers from the collection and just went crazy! Fussy cutting relaxes me! I started by placing the cut elements surrounding the sentiment first, and used a lot of foam adhesive to give it that stacked and three dimensional look. I really like this look, as if you couldn’t tell. It just really adds a lot of interest in my opinion. And then, in no time at all, the front of the card was designed and done. Once you add those buzzy little beez, the cuteness goes over the top! Nothing else is needed!
Now as far as the back, I framed a piece of bright white cardstock with some of the yellow Bee Happy paper. I personally never stop designing at just the front of the card. I always design at least a little on the inside also. Or in this case, the back. So I added a few more fussy cut blooms and some foam adhesive. It adds just that little something special!
It’s been such a pleasure being a guest designer for Dare 2B Artzy and I really have enjoyed it so much! Thank you everyone, and I hope you enjoyed my cards!
