Hello and happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I love Fall. It’s my absolute favorite time of the year because of all the beautiful colors of foliage and the crisp air. For my card today I wanted to play with the Dare 2B Artzy Tangle Leaves stamp and die set once again. This time I wanted to play with ink and the colors of fall.
To start, I die cut a bunch of leaves from some white cardstock. I used several Distress Oxide inks: Crushed Olive, Crackling Campfire, Gathered Twigs, Fossilzed Amber, Ground Espresso and Wild Honey. I ink bended several of colors on each leaf.
Once I was done, I heat set the leaves to make sure that the ink was dry. To test the ink I sprinkled a small amount of embossing powder onto the leaves. If it sticks and doesn’t come off with a simple tap or flick the ink it still too wet. My ink was dry to I could proceed to stamp the leaves.
To make stamping the leaves easier, I put the die cut leaf back in the negative. I stamped each leaf with Versamark and heat set with clear embossing powder.
Using the Oxide inks once again I re-inked over the leaves. This time inking with an alternate color over the original one I used.
Once the leaves were re-inked, I wiped away the ink from the clear embossed image. This reveals the original ink blended color underneath and leaves a cool embossed resist design.
I added some Sakura sparkle pen to some areas of the leaves.
Next, I die cut the Dare 2B Artzy Wavy Slimline die from some white cardstock. I used a small square to cut 3 square windows from the center of the Wavy Slimline die.
I used the same small square die and a second square that was a tad bit smaller to create a border for inside each of my windows from some copper glitter cardstock.
Using a piece of brown cardstock from my stash, I cut another Wavy Slimline and glued it behind the white panel that I created with the 3 windows.
I placed the panel in my MISTI and arranged the leaves in order to figure out where I would be stamping my sentiment. Once I had placement, I stamped the Hello sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed with fine detail white embossing powder.
I arranged the leaves on the front of the panel in the windows and used dimensional foam to secure the leaves to the front panel.
For the background, I cut a piece of the small leaves paper from the stitched slimline die and added it to the white card base from some 110lb cardstock.
The wavy slimline die was added to my card front with some dimensional foam.
For a bit of bling, I added some green and orange pearls to the front of my card panel.
Don’t forget that Dare 2B Artzy has a new challenge going on this month and the theme is FALL. Link up your Fall card project for a chance to win a gift card to the Dare 2B Artzy store. The blog post for the project links is here: Fall Challenge
