Happy Sunday, crafty friends! We have a new guest designer for the month of October!
Please help us give a warm welcome to Leslie Turner from Love To Scrap 2!
Hi, my name is Leslie Turner. I’m married with two grown children and one granddaughter, and I live in beautiful Colorado. I began scrapbooking about 40 years ago, way back when scrapbooks were really bland – before all the fun papers and embellishments came about. For the last 20 years or so, my paper passion has been card making. I started out making computer-generated cards, graduated to card kits, then quickly realized that having my own stash of stuff was the way to go! The rest is history, as they say! I’m addicted to rubber stamping and also enjoy making 3-D paper projects, especially paper shoes and mini albums. I’ve been known to alter a few tins and boxes, and enjoy beading and making jewelry occasionally when I find time. I’m absolutely thrilled to be back as a guest designer for Dare 2B Artzy!
Hi everyone! Leslie here to share a Dare2BArtzy GD inspiration project with you today, a get well card using the Restore the Soul stamp set and the Duck/Fish die set. I’m totally stoked to be back as a guestie for the month of October!
I used a color palette to coincide with the October “Fall Colors” challenge – brown, red, orange, yellow, green and purple. I’ve been getting my feet more and more wet with clean and simple cards lately. CAS has always been a challenge for me because I love colors, layers and big bows! I stamped the cattails and sentiment in Rich Cocoa ink on the card front, and then stamped the mama and baby duck twice on a smaller piece of cardstock. I used the coordinating die to cut the ducks from the first image and the mama duck’s wing from the second image. I colored both pieces and adhered the wing to the mama duck with a dimensional pad.
I adhered mama and her baby to the card front, then colored the water. I layered the panel on yellow cardstock and then adhered it to the card base. I added ripples in the water with White Blizzard Crystal Drops and some randomly placed dots at the top with Dark Walnut Crystal Drops.
For more details and additional photos, please see my blog post at Love To Scrap 2.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project and will link up a creation with us this month using Fall Colors! Be sure to check out all the fun stamps, dies, inks and papers at Dare2BArtzy! Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you next time!
Scrappy hugs,
Leslie
