Hello Artzy friends! Hope you enjoyed your weekend!
It’s Tonya from Krafty Enchantments and I have a new card today which features the new Bouquet Builder stamp and coordinating die set. This beautiful set features a variety of many flowers and some greenery as well as a fancy vase. There are 13 stamps in this set.
For my card, I stamped all of the flowers and some of the greenery twice onto some 110lb cardstock with Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink.
I colored up each of the flower images with the exception of the smallest flower which I didn’t use for this card. My color inspiration for this card was a Starbucks metal tumbler that I had been seeing on my morning visits to get my favorite tea. This tumbler was in the window each day last week and I kept admiring the gorgeous colors. It was an ombre color with a dark navy at the bottom, magenta in the middle and a yellow green at the top. On top of the ombre was a large flower image in an opaque white color. I ended up getting the tumbler and it inspired the colors of this card.
From the color inspiration, I chose colors that were dark navy, magenta, and a yellow-green and for a twist I also used some coral colors. Each flower was colored using my Copic markers.
Once all of my images were colored, I cut them with the coordinating dies and set them aside.
For my card background, I used the Quilted Flower Background die and created an embossed background with it. It is super easy to emboss with your background dies. I simply place my cardstock onto the foam embossing mat with my die faced down towards the foam mat and run it through my die cutting machine with the embossing sandwich. I sometimes add 1 cardstock shim under my cardstock which helps keep the paper from cracking if you have a detailed die.
Once my cardstock was embossed with the Quilted Flowers, I used the Rectangle Framelets Dies and cut out the embossed background.
Next, I cut some navy cardstock and some magenta and yellow-gold foil cardstock into some ¼ inch strips. I only needed six so it was easy to pull from my scraps for this. I weaved the cardstock strips at the intersecting point and held them together with some repositionable tape.
I placed some Score Tape on the back of the strips and placed them onto the embossed Quilted Flower Background.
Finally, I positioned the die cut flowers onto my panel and then when I was happy with the arrangement, I used some Press’ n Seal to hold everything in the position and then flipped it over and added glue and dimensional foam to the pieces.
Once the flowers were all in place, I added some white details to the flower centers with a White Jelly Roll pen as well as adding a bit of sparkle detail with a Stardust Jelly Roll pen.
For the finishing touch, is used the Hello sentiment from the A Single Greeting Stamp set. I had stamped, heat embossed and cut a bunch of these sentiments at the end of December so I was able to use this from my stash of sentiments that I created.
I cut the small tag from the Rectangle Framelets die set and added the Hello sentiment to it with some liquid glue. It’s a bit bigger than the tag, but I thought it looked OK.
Using some thin black and white ribbon, I made a bow and glued it to the end of the tag.
I popped the tag with the sentiment up with some dimensional foam and added it at an angle on my card front.
I didn’t add any additional embellishments to this card as I wanted the flowers and background to stand out.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I have linked all of the products I used in today’s card below for your convenience.
Have a great day!
Hugs,
Tonya
