Good Morning and happiest of Wednesday’s to everyone! It’s Tonya and I’m popping in with a quick card to share featuring the Dare 2B Artzy Bouquet 4 You stamp set.
Let’s face it, some weeks are just more hectic than others are and sometimes you need to pull together a quick card.
Today’s card uses only five crafting items and is quick and easy. To start I cut 3 pieces of Canson Water Color paper. One piece cut to A2 size and two smaller scrap pieces I used to die cut the fun, new Dare 2B Artzy Wavy Squares dies.
Once my watercolor paper was cut, I pulled out my Dare 2B Artzy Bouquet 4 You stamp set. I stamped the tops of the flowers from the potted flower stamp die onto the corners of the A2 sized watercolor paper. The flowers were stamped on each corner using some Versamark ink and heat embossed with some Rose Gold embossing powder and set aside.
Next, I stamped the larger Wavy Rectangles cardstock with the small individual flower also from the Bouquet 4 You stamp set. I stamped the individual flower on each corner of the watercolor paper with Versamark and once again, heat set it with Rose Gold embossing powder.
Finally, on the smallest wavy squares piece, I stamped my sentiment with Versamark and heat set with some purple embossing powder.
I was now ready to add come color to my embossed flowers. I wanted to keep my card simple so I pulled out my favorite Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and chose a few colors. For each layer of my card, I used 1-3 different Zig markers. For the base, I used Red and a darker orange. I like the Zig Brush Markers because they are so easy to create a quick, effortless watercolor effect. I simply placed colors wherever I wanted it and moved it around using an aqua brush. I added more water to dilute the color or added a bit more color once it was dry and used the water to move it around once more. I ended up dragging the color through the whole panel, which gives the soft pastel look that I really like. When I was happy with the base, I set it aside underneath a book so it would dry flat.
For my largest Wavy Squares, I colored each of the flowers again using my Zig markers. This time choosing shades of purple and blue to color my flowers with a small amount of teal on the leaves. Again, I pulled the color throughout the paper to get a soft pastel watercolor effect.
For my sentiment panel, I wanted something that would contrast nicely with the purple embossing powder so I went with a bright yellow Zig marker and colored around the white space behind my sentiment.
Once everything was dry I went back in with a Tonic Clear Shimmer pen and added in some shimmer to all of the flowers and around the sentiment.
To assemble my card, I rotated the larger Wavy Square so that it was positioned between my flowers on my base so that everything would be more visible. I added it to the base layer with some foam tape to give it a bit of dimension. I repeated the same with the sentiment and added it to the layer beneath it using some dimensional foam.
All three layers were added to a piece of 100lb Neenah Solar White Cardstock.
To add a bit more color, I used some confetti sequins to the card panel to help give that additional pop of color.
Hope you have enjoyed today’s quick and easy colorful card. Be sure to check back here on the Dare 2B Artzy Blog.
