Hi all – Vicki Dutcher here from All I Do Is Stamp. For today’s card, I realized [after I made it], that I have done a Pet Sympathy previously [on this blog]. That said, I still needed this card, so I added in a small tutorial to spruce up the post. You’re welcome.
First off, let’s start with the finished card.
I used Puppy Talk, along with a sentiment from Pet Sympathy. I have so much fun coloring this guy. He is just too cute!
Okay, as you can see above, the guy is cut out. While this set does come with matching dies, sadly, I do not have them. Never fear, I came up with a system that works for me.
I use my Silhouette cutter and a MISTI. I realize that not everyone has these [amazing] tools, but if you do, here are the steps for creating die cuts to match your images.
I start by stamping the image on paper and scanning it onto the Silhouette screen. Once done, I trace and cut out the image.
I then stamp my image onto a scrap piece of paper in my MISTI.
Using the negative cut out [from the Silhouette] I place it evenly around the stamped image.
Then I insert the positive cut back into the negative, and I re-stamp.
Because I Silhouette cut a bunch of images at one time, I went ahead and stamped all of the positive cuts for future use.
You can see I used the D2BA Copic friendly ink, Totally Black, to stamp my images too. Once done, all you do is color the image [the best part]
I hope you enjoyed my card [and tutorial] — See you next month
