Hello there, Carrie Rhoades, back to share with you 6 Quick and Easy Slimline cards I made using the All The Buzz Collection of paper. I love this paper, the colors in it and the patterns. The other things I love about it is that it has images in it that can be die cut with the Honey Bear and Buzzy Beez dies.
So, I set out to see what I could make with just this paper. I use the Honey Bear stamp set for some sentiments, but mostly just used the paper. I die cut out so many images from the paper and fussy cut a few that did not have dies, like the little flowers and the wreaths.
Here you can see the first card I made along with the images I had left to play with to make my other 5 cards.
The background of this card is what got my thinking about making slimline cards with this paper. This sheet in particular seemed perfect for a slimline card, I just cut a strip to 3″ x 8-1/2″. Then I added a strip of colored card stock to the top and bottom of that strip and added it to a white slimline card that measures 8-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.
For this card I fussy cut out the wreath, around the outside and the inside as well, saving the bee hive that was in the center for the next card. I added one of the largest bees and had him holding a honey stirrer, which looks like it is dripping onto the hand stamped sentiment.
I even added a bit of the paper to the inside for added interest. I just cut around the outer edge of the pattern, so the detail would really stand out.
I did the same thing with this background as I did on the first card, but with a different part of the same sheet of patterned paper. For the wreath on this card I did not cut out the center and popped the bee hive that I saved from the previous card up over the one already there for more depth. I added a flower next to the hive. Then I added one of the die cut bears, popping him up with two layers of foam adhesive. I finished it off with another hand stamped sentiment.
On the inside…
I added a custom sentiment with two pieces cut from the All the Buzz paper to say Bee Yourself.
For my third card I went vertical. I added two die cut pieces to either side of the patterned paper using the Wavy Slimline Border dies.
I added my patterned paper cut outs to the center on top of a die cut circle. And two added sentiments to finish off this card, one at the top and one at the bottom of the card to balance it out. All of my sentiments I fussy cut out for a bubble look around the words.
On this inside of this card I did do a little stamping.
I added a bee to the upper right corner and a pot of honey in the lower left corner that is another of the pieces cut from the All The Buzz patterned paper.
My fourth card, also a vertical slimline uses another of the dies from the Wavy Slimline Borders. I love the pierced edge on the Dare 2B Artzy die cuts.
The two sentiments on this card are also from the patterned paper. I think they are so cute with this happy little bee.
There is another bee and bee hive on this inside of this card.
Card number five has the last of the three bears on it.
The card stock on the front of this card is left over from the last card, I added a floral patterned paper behind it. And on top I added another strip of the honey comb pattern that I fussy cut the edges of.
I love the sentiment on this one, it goes perfectly with this bear image. And a couple of bees finish off this card.
At this point I had quite a few images left over and so I added a few to the inside of this card.
I was going to stop at five cards, but I still had more cut out images and so I went for another card, cause I was having so much fun making them.
Also, I had yet to use my favorite print from this set, the plaid. Isn’t that such a fun plaid pattern, great colors! I was determined to use up the rest of the image I had cut from the patterned paper. So I did a grouping of several of the images and I love how it turned out.
I even had enough left to add several to the inside of this card as well.
I really did have so much fun making these card and playing with the different patterns and challenging myself to use up all the images I had cut out.
Below I have listed all the things I have used to make these cards.
