You’re My Anchor

March 22, 2019 0 Comments

Happy Friday, Dare 2B Artzy Fans!  It’s Melody!
Do you have someone in your life who is always with you when it’s smooth sailing and who always helps you weather life’s storms?  You know exactly the wonderful friends about whom I am talking!  I am fortunate to have several of those friends, and I am dedicating this card to them!

This card is made with the new D2BA Wavy Squares Fun Fold Die!

I began by folding my A2 card base in half.  I then made pencil marks at 2 1/8″ from the left side of the opened card.

I taped the smaller die from the Wavy Squares Fun Fold on this pencil mark so my card would be scored down the center of the left half of the card.  The wavy square cuts through the card stock while the straight parts of the die give you a score line.

I used the larger die to cut my patterned paper.  I began with a piece of patterned paper that was 2 1/8″ x 5 1/2″.  I slid it under the the section of the left panel with the die cut wavy square.  I then placed the die so that the border would fit evenly around the cut out portion and taped it down with purple tape.  I removed the paper with the die adhered and ran it through my die cutting machine.  Then I adhered it to the card base.

I cut another 2 1/8″ x 5 1/2″ piece of patterned paper for the adjacent section and used the same die to create a wavy square that mirrored the left section.  I removed the paper from the card base with the die still adhered and die cut it with my die cutting machine.  That panel was then adhered to the card.  The patterned paper on these two sections came from the Sail Away Paper which is part of the Seas the Day Collection.

After cutting and adhering a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of plaid paper from the Manatees Paper to the right side of the card, I stamped the sailboat from the Anchors Away Stamp Set and colored it with Copic Markers.  I used the following Copic Marker combinations: (R14, R37, R39), (B24, B28, B99), (C00, C1), and BG13.
The anchors and sentiment were also stamped from the Anchors Away Stamp Set.  Wavy squares were die cut from blue card stock and from the Under the Sea Paper.  The sailboat and the large anchor were die cut with the coordinating Anchors Away Die, and all pieces were adhered to the card.

I hope you have smooth sailing this weekend, and if you are in the Indianapolis, Indiana, area, please stop in and visit us at the Indianapolis Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Festival on Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23.  We would love to see you!

Happy stamping!
Melody
