Hi crafty friends! It’s Tonya from the Dare 2B Artzy Design Team. I hope you had a wonderful holiday and New Years!
Not sure how the weather has been where you are, but we had snow in the past week and it’s been so cold that the snow is not melting…or at least it seems that way. That’s unusual for Colorado as the snow is usually melted within a day or so. I am ready for some sunshine and warmer temperatures to melt it all away.
Looks like Winter might be around for a bit so I thought I would make a card with a bit of winter cheer.
Today I am playing with the Toboggan Fun stamp and die set along with the Night Sky hot foil plate and several snowflake dies all from Dare 2B Artzy.
To start, I hot foiled the Night Sky background onto some pink matte foil card stock. I discovered that foiling on this card stock gives great results every time and I cannot help but foil everything, LOL! I used some blue foil from Bluebonnet RVG foils. I love how the Night Sky hot foil plate looks with the blue sparkly foil on the pink background.
I trimmed my foiled background down to 4 inches by 5 1/4 inches and set it aside.
Next, I cut a piece of Neenah 110lb Solar White card stock down to the same size of 4 inches by 5 1/4 inches.
I pulled out the Scalloped Curved Slimline Border Die. I used the die to cut a scalloped border running from the upper
left side of my card stock to the lower right. I used the border die to cut a border into each half of the card stock leaving a sort of curvy “V” shape in my card stock
I adhered the two sections onto my hot foiled Night Sky background with some Score-Tape aligning each section with the outside edge of my night sky and leaving the curvy gap down the center.
Using some white glitter card stock, I pulled out all of the snowflake dies from my various sets and die cut a bunch of snowflakes.
Each snowflake was arranged over the center gap and adhered with a glue dot.
I stamped the toboggan with the snow-people on it onto some Xpress-it Blending Card stock and colored with my OLO Markers. I didn’t believe it until I tried it but these markers actually do work better with the Copic Xpress-it Card stock
When I was finished coloring, I used the coordinating die to cut out the cute toboggan crew and added some dimensional foam to the back.
Using a curvy die, I cut a small section of glitter card stock to make a snowy hill for my toboggan to rest on and glued it to the bottom edge of the card stock
Using my MISTI, I stamped the greeting Winter Cheer using my mini ink cube of Dare 2B Arzy Wild Orchid ink.
I popped my toboggan crew in place on the front of the card and used some small glitter gems to add to the pom-poms on the hats.
To finish the card, I added an A2 layer of matte blue foil card stock and added it to an A2 card base made from Neenah 110lb Neenah Solar White card stock.
This card turned out so bright and cheerful! I am sure it would brighten anyone’s day who’s suffering from the Winter blues.
