I love to make cards. I really do. I’ll say this though, my mojo is squelched when I feel forced to make one in a time crunch.  To help prevent those last minute creations, I enjoy making cards like this… Cards with a sweet sentiment, or even snarky, with the inside left blank to accommodate any sort of greeting to be specialized for a particular event. This sentiment with the D2BA Happiness Blooms set is ideal for a variety of interior phrases. Think: “Happy Birthday”, “Thinking of You”, “Get Well”, “With Sympathy” or even something snarky like, “My Garden is 2′ x 2′ “. Leaving the interior blank until needed allows for so much flexibility!

This background was created with watercolor on hot press watercolor paper for a smooth finish and easy stamp-ability. I squiggled paint onto the paper and then came back with clean clear water touched just slightly to the edge of the paint. The paint blooms into the water to create soft beautiful blends. Keep applying water to the edges until the desired look is achieved.

The gorgeous flowers are also from the D2BA Happiness Blooms set. To create this look I first stamped the images onto hot press watercolor paper in waterproof D2BA Sunset Yellow ink using a precision stamp platform. I then watercolored like mentioned above, laying the color down and then blending out with clean clear water.

Once the images were complete and dry I used a white gel pen in a few areas for pop. Next, I replaced the colored images into the precision stamp platform, in the exact same position, and stamped again with Versamark ink. I then heat embossed with gold detail embossing powder, fussy cut the images and adhered to base with dimensional foam tape.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment in D2BA Totally Black Hybrid ink and adhered a few sequins. Add to a card base and enjoy your creation until you are ready to brighten someone’s day!
