Wacky Box Inlaid Card

Happiest of Wednesday’s Dare 2B Artzy fans! I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far! The weather is cooling down here in Colorado so I am as happy as a clam in a land locked state – LOL!

I am back today with a quick and easy card to make featuring the awesome new Dare 2B Artzy Wacky Box die. Let me just say that I am totally in love, love with the possibilities of this die. It is so FUN!

A while back I had purchased some gorgeous Rose Gold satin finish paper and I wanted to try it out with a detailed die cut like the Dare 2B Artzy Wacky Box die.

Using my manual die cutter, I placed the die into the machine and added the rose gold paper and ran it through. My initial thought was to cut the final piece into two sections and create with that, but once I saw the finished die cut, I knew I wanted to do an inlayed design with it. I glued the background to a piece of black cardstock cut to the same size as the die.

I die cut a second Wacky Box Die from a piece of blue satin card stock to do the inlaying of all the pieces.

Normally, I would have used the Glad Press-n-Seal trick to pick up the finished die cut and all of the little pieces, but wouldn’t you know that I was out of my Press-n-Seal.

So while watching TV for an hour, I used my We R Memory Keepers Quick Stick to pick up the die cut pieces and then I used some liquid glue and glued in all of the little blue die cut pieces into the rose gold frame. I did deliberately leave some of the rose gold pieces in for some variance. While it’s not difficult to do this, it is a bit of a labor of love. I have to say that the end result is gorgeous, don’t you think?

For a fun sentiment, I used the brand new Dare 2B Artzy die cut tags & greetings and used the Hello greeting. I love the look of these new dies and the script is awesome set against the solid background. I did use some silver tonic shimmer pen on the white background.

To complete my card, I added everything to a top folding A2 size card base from some white 110lb cardstock and added a few pearls to the front of the card for some added sparkle.
