Strawberry Birthday Wishes

July 26, 2021 0 Comments

Hello everyone! It’s Tonya from Krafty Enchantments.

Today, I am creating a slimline birthday card. This card features the Strawberry Vine stamp set. It is a larger stamp set measuring 6×8 and has an awesome strawberry vine stamp. This strawberry vine stamp is about 7 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches so it’s the perfect size for your standard slimline, mini slimline and A2 size cards if you want to fill the card front with the image or partial stamp the image.

The Strawberry Vine stamp set features several sentiments and phrases as well as some individual strawberries and even some stamps to add a chocolate dip on your strawberries which is such a fun addition.

I started by stamping onto some 110lb white cardstock using Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink and coloring the stamped image with my Copic Markers.

Next, I used the Strawberry Vine coordinating die and cut all of the colored images out.

I cut a second set of the strawberry vine dies from some 110lb white cardstock as I’ll need them for my card today.

I found some Bright Blooms paper from my Dare 2B Artzy paper stash. I cut the paper down using the largest rectangle from the Wavy Slimline Framelets dies.  I also cut a 2nd rectangle piece of 110lb White cardstock from the same die.

For my card front I am using a piece of clear acetate that was about an inch longer than my Wavy Framelets rectangle die cuts so it was about 9 1/2 x 3 1/2.

Utilizing a mini score pad, I scored my acetate piece 1 inch from the top. This will give me an edge to adhere to my white die cut rectangle and would form the front flap to my card. I used some score-tape to adhere the acetate to the white cardstock.

I added my Bright Blooms paper on the top of the white cardstock using more Score-tape so that the edge of the acetate wouldn’t be visible.

The colored Strawberry Vine that I cut out was added on the front of the Acetate using lots of Score-Tape to hold it securely in place

Next, I added the extra set of Strawberry Vine die cuts from the white cardstock to the back of the acetate. This just gives a nice clean backer to my strawberry image on the front of the acetate and hides the back of the colored image as sometimes alcohol markers can bleed through.

At this point, I decided that I wanted to add a border on the inside panel to break up the checked background. It needed a bit of color to tie my strawberries together with the inside of the card since it is a see-through card front.

To create my frame, I used the largest rectangle and the largest Wavy Rectangle from the Wavy Slimline Framelets to create a fun wavy border using some matte red foil cardstock.

I used some Bearly Art liquid glue to add the border to the inside of the card and set some large stamping blocks on it until it was dry.

For the sentiment, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment that reads Happy Birthday to my sweet Friend using some fine detail black embossing powder.

Using the little sentiment label die with the scalloped edge, I created a frame for my sentiment with some red holographic cardstock.

I added a bit of Score-tape to the frame and sentiment back and placed it in the lower right corner of my checked cardstock.

I also cut the word sweet from the die set 3 times from some white cardstock and once from more of the iridescent red cardstock. I added that to the front of the acetate on top of the strawberries for a bit of shiny detail.

To create a back for my card, I cut another large rectangle from the Wavy Framelets slimline dies and scored it at 1 inch from the top. I added this to the back of my card panel to create the opening flap for the message to the recipient.

For the sentiment on the inside the card flap, I stamped the Sending Sweet Birthday Wishes with the Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black Ink.

I added a few yellow gems to the card front with some liquid glue.

That finishes up my card for today. Thank you so much for joining me.

Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,

Tonya

PS. If you would like to see a video on my process for this card, I have my first ever video up on my YouTube channel. You can check it out here: Tonya Meyer YouTube Channel

Please note that I am new to YouTube and I unknowingly filmed all my video in portrait mode (who knew there were different settings on your phone, lol!) which I realized after filming over 2 hour of video and several hours of editing (argh!!). Please bear with me while I learn all of the in’s and outs of filming, video editing, etc. I appreciate your kindness and patience with me as I tackle this new learning curve! Thank you!
