“Be willing to be a beginner every single morning.” – Meister Eckhart
This quote reminds me of my dad who has always taught me to “be teachable”. Well, I am taking his advice and I signed up for an online Copic card class at Online Card Classes.
I wanted to bring you along with me to see what we are learning. You will have to stop by their website to see all of the great classes you can take. This is a two week class so I will be posting a few samples along the way. I have been designing cards and stamps for a while now but I am pretty new to Copics. We all have to start somewhere. I have a lot to learn and am excited to jump in.
Our first class was all about the basics of blending. They had a great practice sheet with balloons so once I played with that I decided to try out my new skills with our Dare 2B Artzy Hot Air Balloon set and Lift Your Spirit set. This is a sample of the practice sheet. I still have a limited number of Copic markers but here is what I came up with.
My blending still needs work. I added demension by just popping the cloud and one of the balloons. I also tried to make the balloon in front appear transparent. I know, hot air balloons would not be transparent but I really liked the way my practice sheet turned out so I wanted to try it here as well. Just trying to be “Artzy”.
Hope you enjoyed my card. Here are the stamps and dies that I used.
NEW STAMP SET for this FALL!
I know it doesn’t have anything to do with my Copic class but I just wanted to share it with you.
Have a great day and “be a beginner” today!
Blessings, Cindy
