Hello & happy Monday crafty friends! It’s Tonya from Krafty Enchantments and I’m back today with a simple holiday card.

This card features my favorite Dare 2B Artzy Totally Tracy stamp set called Holly Xmas.

I love the sentiments and the fun poinsettia and holly images in this stamp set. Today, I’ve used the Holly stamp set to create a fun, simple background.

I’ve used this stamp set for several cards and its super versatile for holiday cards and non-holiday cards as well. To start, I cut a piece of Stonehenge Aqua Coldpress black watercolor paper in 140lb weight to 6 x 6 size.

I stamped the holly and berries images with Versamark onto the black watercolor paper and heat embossed with some gold embossing powder. The paper is very porous so the heat embossing doesn’t really sit on top of the paper like it would normally but rather looks like it was stamped in gold ink. It creates kind of a neat stamped effect that makes the image look like it’s stamped.

To color my holly images, I used some metallic watercolors that I purchased from a seller on Etsy. Any brand of metallic watercolor will work on the black watercolor paper and look amazing. I added a couple of layers on green-blue for the leaves and some red for the berries.  They dry quickly and have a gorgeous metallic shimmer that I love.

I cut my black cardstock down to 4 1/8 x 5 ¼, so just a bit smaller than A2 which gives me room to add a gold mat to it.

For the sentiment I stamped the peace, love and joy sentiments with Versamark and heat set with more of the gold embossing powder. I cut the embossed sentiments panel down to 2 ½ x 3 and added a gold panel that was 1/16 of an inch bigger. I hope as we round out 2020 that we can all look forward to lots of Peace, Love and Joy.

To finish off the card, I added some yellow-gold gems to the card panel. The gems seem to change colors with the cardstock which is kind of a cool effect.
