No-line Coloring Fruit Loops

October 01, 2020 0 Comments

Hello my stamping friends, Carrie Rhoades back on the Dare 2B Artzy Blog today. In my last post I shared a fun card using the Fruit Loop stamp set. It was a hit and so I thought I would do another card and show you how I used no-line coloring to bring these fruit loops to life. You can check out the video right here.

For this card, I wanted to create the look of cereal being poured from a box into a bowl. The sentiment got me thinking that it would be fun for Fruit Loops to be coming out of the Cherrios looking box.

For the box I used the angled die from the Wavy Slimline Borders die set. Then I stamped it with the cluster of circles image from the Fruit Loop stamp set and embossed them with clear powder.

For the Fruit Loops I stamped the single image that looks like a piece of cereal in Antique Linen Distress ink. Then I colored in each piece using Copic Markers. I used two markers for each color, a dark and light. The darker marker to trace the stamped image and the lighter to fill it in. No-line coloring fruit loops is easy, they do not have to be perfect. In real life fruit loops are bumpy and irregular. So don’t worry if you don’t have steady hand or if you can not trace a circle, like me, you can no-line color fruit loops!

And now let’s chat about my bowl. I have to be real with you all. I am not one to just color in my own scenes using Copic Markers. It’s really outside my area of comfort. But it was what this card called for, so I took a step outside of the cozy comfort zone and went for it. I know it could be much better. But I have to say I am happy with it, it will do. I had fun creating it and am proud of myself for trying something new.

Now let’s take a look at the video and you can see me color in these fruit loops and the bowl too.

You can find the Dare 2B Artzy Products I used below.

Incase you missed the other slimline card I made with the Fruit Loop stamp set, you can see it below for more inspiration with this technique and stamp set.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a blessed day and I hope today you Dare 2B Artzy!

Happy Stamping,

Carrie
