Monster Birthday Wishes

Hello and welcome dear Artzy friends! It’s Angie here today with a mini slimline birthday card using lots of patterned papers and dies from stamp sets. If you don’t like coloring or don’t have time to color the critters for your cards, Dare 2B Artsy’s patterned paper and stamp dies are the answer.

I took the “Space Odyssey” patterned paper and the die set from “Cosmic Creatures” and cut the creature, space ship and stars from the paper. Those dies from the stamp set, fit the patterned paper creatures, space ship, stars and planets perfectly. The reverse side of that paper is the striped paper you see around the edges on my card.

The layers on this mini slimline starting with the card base are added in this order:

1) white slimline card base
2) navy blue layer
3) striped paper layer cut with Wavy Mini Slimline die
4) a white panel behind the striped Wavy Mini Slimline die
Then add the die cut rocket, creatures and stars!

Here’s a closer look:

The sentiment is from the same “Cosmic Critters” stamp set heat embossed in white on black card stock.
It was popped up on foam tape for more dimension. Next, I added some star gems from my stash to the die cut stars for some shine and shimmer!

Aren’t those creatures just the cutest? I especially like the two guys peeking out of the spaceship windows!

I had so much fun making this card. By cutting the critters and elements directly from the patterned paper, I saved a lot of time because I didn’t have to color the images. Plus, they all match perfectly because they come from the same paper pack! That’s a win-win!
