Hello! I hope you are all having a wonderful day! As the weather gets nicer and more Spring-like I find myself anxiously awaiting the gorgeous spring flowers and blossoming trees. I’m also desperately in need of some vacation time so I’ve been day dreaming a lot lately, LOL!
For today’s Dare 2B Artzy card I was definitely trying to achieve some Spring colors using one of my absolute favorite Dare 2B Artzy dies, the Slimline Wildflower Background die. So many people loved the Wildflower Stencil from Dare 2B Artzy that they created a die. I just love, love this die, it is so fun!
To create my soft colored florals with this die, I used a piece of Grumbacher 140 lb water color paper and I cut it down to 4 ½ x 12 (1 sheet of paper cut in half). I created a loose watercolor background using some Prima Pastel Dreams Watercolor set. I created a soft rainbow of color from purple to an orangey-pink. The watercolor dries back a bit softer than it goes on for a few of the colors so I did go back over the purple and blue again after the panel was dry to get a bit brighter shade of colors. I really love the soft pastel colors.
I also created a shimmer spray by mixing a small amount of water with some white Perfect Pearls and a mini mister spray bottle. I generously sprayed the water colored panel with the Perfect Pearls mix to give everything a nice shimmer. It’s hard to see in photos but it has a beautiful shimmer.
I set the background panel aside to dry completely overnight so that I could die cut it.
Next up, I colored the Dare 2B Artzy Crafty Gnome stamp set with m Chroma Alcohol Markers. I chose to use some bright fun colors for my little gnome. I also stamped and colored the 3 mushrooms in the set. I definitely have never seen hot pink and blue mushrooms, but I think they had a fun touch to the card.
I die cut my cute crafty gnome and mushrooms using the coordinating die set and set them aside.
Next, using the Slimline Wildflower die I die cut my pastel rainbow panel using my electronic die cutting machine. The detailed die cut beautifully.
For the background behind my die cut flowers, I used a piece of black glossy cardstock. The Slimline Wildflower background really pops against the glossy cardstock.
My Wildflower background was added to the black cardstock with some 1/8 inch score tape.
The gnome and mushrooms were added with some dimensional foam and a small amount of score tape.
Finally, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, Make Gnome Mistake I think you’re Great!” with some detail black embossing powder. I cut the sentiment down and added a fishtail flag on one side and added to my panel with some score tape.
The entire panel was added to a slimline card base from some 110lb cardstock. I added some colored gems to background panel for a bit more sparkle. I also added a tiny yellow gem to the center of the flower on the little gnome’s hat.
I really love how this card turned out. It is definitely the bright Springy card I was trying to create!
