Hi there & happy Wednesday! It’s Tonya from Krafty Enchantments. I’m back on today with a card featuring one of the gorgeous new stamp sets from Dare 2B Artzy called Blossom.
I knew when I saw this set that I wanted to create some gorgeous purple and blue flowers and use them to frame the sentiment.
To start my card, I stamped the flowers onto a Post-it note and fussy cut it to create my mask.
Next, I cut a piece of Arches Cold Press water color paper so that it was a bit larger than an A2 size card. I positioned the water color card stock into my MISTI and held it in place firmly with my bar magnets. I positioned the stamp starting in the corner of the paper and then inked it and stamped it so that just the blossoms would be showing. Since it was water color paper, I had to stamp in a couple times. The MISTI is perfect for stamping multiple times.
Once the flowers were stamped once, I placed the mask over top of the image I just stamped. I cleaned my stamp off using a baby wipe and repositioned it so that it would stamp in the center and overlap the previous stamped image a bit. Once I had the stamp positioned where I wanted it I re-inked with the Versafine and stamped it again. I repeated this process until I had the top and the bottom of the paper stamped with my floral images.
With my images stamped, I was finally ready to color. The card really only used 4 colors of Zig Clean Color Brush pens; Deep Violet, Light Blue for the flowers and Marine Green and Light Green for the leaves. I colored the flowers first by brushing on a small amount of the purple and then using a water brush, I moved the color around. Once the purple was dry I was able to add the light blue to the flower edges and then add some water to blend the two colors a bit. I did the same with the leaves, using the Marine Green first and then added in a touch of the Light Green and blended the two with my water brush again.
Once all of the flowers and leaves were colored and had dried completely, I went back in with some Chameleon and Soucolor colored pencils and added a bit more detail to the flowers. This also helped to smooth out the blending of the water colors. I also added some yellow centers on the flowers with a colored pencil. It was such a tiny area, it was easier to add this detail with a colored pencil.
The sentiment was stamped with some Versamark and heat embossed with some light blue embossing powder.
I went back in and added some clear sparkle to all of the flowers with a Spectrum Noir clear brush pen. It is so sparkly and stunning in person. I don’t think the camera quite captures the sparkle.
I popped my panel up with some dimensional foam onto a piece of holographic cardstock. This just added a bit of shine around the edges of the floral piece and helps make the colors pop.
For a bit more sparkle, I added some iridescent sequins to the card front.
My finished card size was an A2.
I’m over the moon with how this card turned out. I love the flowers from the Blossom stamp set framing the wonderful sentiment and the vibrant colors are so pretty. It’s a card that will certainly brighten someone’s day!
The Blossom stamp set is new and now available in the Dare 2B Artzy store. You can find all of the new stamps under the “What’s New” section of the store. The coordinating die set for this stamp will be available in March. Be sure to check out the new paper packs as well. The papers are so gorgeous! I know I have a bad case of “want it all fever”!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card!
Hugs!
Tonya
