Hi,
I am thrilled to be guesting this week for Dare to Be Artzy. I challenged myself to work with just one stamp set, Power of Flowers. I will have another card next week! I am away at a crafty retreat in Cincinnati and wanted an easy to make card. I chose the swirly image from the set and stamped it repeatedly in grey ink using my MISTI. I started off using an A2 sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80 lb card stock. After I finished stamping, I cut this down to 4″ x 5.25″. I mounted this panel onto a cool grey card stock and then placed this matted background onto an A2 sized card made with Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock.
For the main image, I stamped the large daisy with Memento Tuxedo Black ink which works perfectly with Copics. I then drew in a stem using a Copic safe pen. I added the leaves as a final touch.
For the flower, I used YG61, RV11, RV14 and RV19 along with some colored pencils for added details. I chose to use a green to tone down the vibrancy of the pink. The RV1 series are beautiful but sometimes, they can look flourescent so I chose to use YG61 for my darkest color. For the leaves I used YG61, YG63, YG67 and G24 along with some colored pencil details. The center was fun to make – I used B60, Y11 and Y35. I then used colored pencil to add depth to the flower center. I finished it off with dots using my white gel pen. I then tied some May Arts Rustic Twine around the center. I then added a sentiment strip using the thank you stamped with Versafine Onyx Black. I added some irridescent sequins and called it done.
