Happy Tuesday Crafty Friends!!!
Please help us give a warm welcome to this month’s Guest Designer, Michelle from Scrapweaver.com!! She joined us for our last Blog Hop, but is back to share two projects with us this month!! We absolutely love her work and hope you do too!!
Hi! Michelle Houghton here. I am thrilled to be joining Dare 2B Artzy this month as their guest designer. Here is a little about me before I share my first project.
I am the wife to an amazing husband and the mother of two beautiful girls in Iowa. I am a busy stay-at-home mom, teaching doodling and Copic classes both on-line and across the US and Canada. Prior to motherhood, I was an art teacher and I love being able to continue sharing my art through card making and scrapbooking techniques. I have been scrapbooking for about 20 years and coloring with Copic markers for the last 10 years. When I first tried Copics I fell in love and have since gotten both my Certification and Intermediate Certification from Imagination International Inc., the United States distributor of Copic Markers. After about 5 years of teaching Copic classes on-line I began teaching for III as a Regional Instructor, I also run their Copic In The Craft Room site and help create new curriculum for their Certification Team. Bottom line: I love to teach! Teaching live and on-line has been an amazing adventure!
For my project today I am using the Dare 2B Artzy stamp set, The Potter, and Totally Black ink pad. To start I stamped the image and phrase on a sheet of tracing paper.
Next I used my Copic markers to color on the back of the tracing paper. *This is key so the ink does not smear. Here are the markers I used and a close up of what the Copic coloring looks like on the tracing paper. You will not get smooth blending on a surface like this.
Next I created the base layer for my page and added journaling. I adhered the image only at the top edge so the journaling is masked but can still be accessed. The journaling is written with a gold Kirarina Wink marker.
Here is the final look:
On this Wednesday, May 17th I will have a video of the full process of creating this page from start to finish. I would love for you to stop by and check it out if you have the time. Here is the address to the Copic In The Craft Room YouTube channel.
Feel free to also stop by my personal blog or other social media outlets as well and get all the up to date information on Copic happenings!
