Fun & Foiled! Mixed Media Card Featuring Buzzy Beez

Hi there Artzy family! I’m here today sharing a fun card using one of my favorite D2BA stamp and die sets, the Buzzy Beez.

I started my card by taking a piece of watercolor cardstock and the Dare 2B Artzy Sunburst Stencil. I applied some transfer gel through the stencil and waited about an hour or so for it to completely dry. When the transfer gel is applied it is pretty opaque and once it’s dried it looks clear, that’s how you can tell that it is dry! I wasn’t sure what I was going to do this point, I just knew that I wanted to add some foil flakes.

I knew the sentiment that I wanted to use was You Brighten my Day from the Well Wishes stamp set, and so I wanted to use foil flakes that were sunshiney. Yeah, that’s not a word! I applied some gold and copper foil flakes by placing them onto the dried transfer gel and then burnishing them into the gel with my fingers.

Next, I stamped the cute little Buzzy Bee in a maroon color and then added some gold embossed accents. I used the coordinating Buzzy Beez Die to cut out the bee.

I then added some gold splatters to the foiled cardstock by spritzing some water droplets and then covering those with gold embossing powder and heat set with my heat tool. I love using the water and embossing powder technique!

For the sentiment, You Brighten my Day from the Well Wishes stamp set, I colored a piece of smooth cardstock with a maroon marker and then used embossing ink and gold embossing powder over the sentiment. I also used an embossing pen to create a thin border, which I then sprinkled with gold embossing powder as well.

To finish off the card, I grabbed some dots from my stash and the card is complete! I hope that this cute little bee puts a smile on your face today!
