Hi Artzy friends! I am back today with some out of this world inspiration. I have been in awe of the photos that are coming back from the James Web Space Telescope. They are breathtaking and so exciting to see all the new images from space.
I was inspired to create a fun space scene card with the Cosmic Creatures and the Night Sky hot foil plate.
To start my card, I hot foiled the Night Sky plate with some Rainbow hot foil onto an A2 size card panel. The Night Sky hot foil plate is so pretty foiled with the rainbow foil.
I stamped and colored one of the Cosmic Creatures and the adorable Rocketship from the stamp set with my Copic Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out when I finished.
Next, I cut two sections of clouds using the Slimline Clouds Border die. I used the negative of the die cut clouds to blend on some additional dimension for the clouds. I made the clouds in the foreground a darker blend of blues. The clouds in the background are lighter because the moon is shining on them.
Once I finished blending the clouds, I used the base layer from the Slim Mini Wavy Layers die set and cut the clouds down to fit on a slimline card. I added some shimmer to the clouds using a Sakura Jelly Roll pen in Stardust.
Since my foiled Night Sky background was A2 size, it would be a bit smaller than a traditional mini-slimline card. To fix that, I cut my foiled panel on the short side so that it was about three inches wide. I cut the end of the remaining piece to make a full mini slimline card. The seam from the two pieces would be hidden by the Rocketship.
For the planet that my little cosmic creature is standing on, I used the Double Dot Circle framelet die and cut a background piece I had created some time ago with some alcohol inks. It is a nice contrast from my background with its copper and green colors.
I assembled my card, popping up my clouds with dimensional foam against the Night Sky background and my little planet.
I added my little orange Cosmic Creature behind the clouds and my Rocketship in the foreground.
The foiled background has a lot of gorgeous shimmer, but I added the die cut moon and a few stars cut from some iridescent cardstock.
For the sentiment, I stamped Happy Birthday into the clouds and heat embossed with some detail white embossing powder.
That finishes today’s card. I hope you have some time this week to get crafty and to check out some of the amazing images of space from the James Web Space Telescope.
All the products used in today’s card are linked below for your convenience.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great day!
Hugs,
Tonya
