Week 2 of Online Card Class. This week we are learning some great tips on coloring our favorite animals. I was looking forward to this one. Dare 2B Artzy has a series of owls and an adorable little FOX. Now I feel more confident in my coloring skills because of the great tips from the class.
They provided us some great sample sheets but I was so excited to jump right into coloring the “Halloween Owl” and fox from the “What does the Fox Say” stamp sets so I made my own practice sheet. I need to work a lot more on these techniques but let me show you where I am so far.
The first critter I played with was our Halloween Owl. I did the base of the owl first. This is a fun set because you get to choose from 3 Halloween masks. This made it easy to focus on the background and not have to worry about coloring around the eyes. I then stamped the eyes on a separate piece of cardstock and cut it out. I popped the eyes/mask up to give him some dimension. I used copic colors: E00, E33, E57
The second critter is our foxy Fox! She was fun to color. Yes, I said, “she”. By adding a little eye shadow and stickles to the fox’s eyelids you can make her look like a female. I want to practice this fur technique more but take a look at where I am so far. My “flicking technique” needs work. I used copic colors: E00, E33, E35, E57
Here is another owl card I did before my copic lessons on animals. I still used some of the techniques I had learned from the first week. Now I want to go back and redue this one.
My colors are limited. I would love to know what markers you use. Leave a comment and let me know what your favorite copic color combination is for animals. Hope you are having fun with Dare 2B Artzy stamps and Copic Markers. Have an “Artzy” day. Come back again to see some more samples from the class.

Hello Artzy friends! I hope you had a nice weekend and that it’s warm wherever you are. We still have snow left over from the storm that dumped about 8 inches a couple of weeks ago. It’s been so cold that it never melts. I hate to say that as much as I am a...
