Christmas Puppies Shaker Cards

Hello, Carrie Rhoades here. I am excited to be sharing my first blog post as a member of the Dare 2B Artzy design team. Today I am sharing one of my favorite D2BA stamp sets, Christmas Puppy. The reason I love it so much is that it look like my puppy, Toby. Who just turned one, so I guess I have to stop saying he is a puppy, even though he will always be my baby dog!

I love that the die set for Christmas Puppy is also the die set for the Puppy Kisses stamp set. That saves me money and helps me get more use out of my purchases! I had to decide which set I wanted to play with the most for this post and my heart was set on making a cute Christmas card! And one thing you should know about me is that I love shaker cards! So a Christmas Puppy Shaker card it is!

I colored him up to be a blond Cockapoo just like my Toby. For this I used Copic Markers E53, E13 and E11. I added on the headband of antlers image to complete the Rudolph look. I popped him up on to a die cut circle, using the Double Dot Circle Framelits. The piece that I cut this circle from I saved and will be using on the next card.

To back my shaker I used some patterned paper from the Snow Much Fun Variety pack. I thought this print was perfect, as I was not too busy for the look of the card.

For my shaker elements on both cards I used tiny micro clear beads and iridescent confetti hearts, both of which I have had on hand for years. Time to sue them up!

Now Let’s take a look at my next card.

I colored this puppy a little darker for a more red look. This puppy is inspired by Toby’s friend Archie! Here is a pic of the puppies together that inspired my coloring. The colors I used to color in Archie are E19, E 15 and E13.

I so enjoyed coloring these puppies and dressing them up for Christmas. There are so many other ways you can color them. Even with different colors, like white with black ears would be so darn cute!
