Hi Artzy friends! It’s Tonya from the Dare 2B Artzy Design Team. I’m back today with a couple of fun cards featuring an exciting new stamp set called Breezy Blossoms. This gorgeous floral set features three large flowers, some additional small flowers and leaves as well as 8 sentiments that can be mixed and matched. The stamp set also has a coordinating stencil that can be purchased separately as well as the coordinating dies.
I stamped and heat embossed the 3 large floral images from the stamp set with some detail black embossing powder onto some Canson Watercolor paper.
Once finished, I grabbed a spray bottle filled with water and 3 of my Tonic Shimmer powders in Blue Blitz, Cherry Bomb and Solar Flare. The Tonic Shimmer powders are so fun to play with and the color in the bottle is not always indicative of what you get. These powders are exceptionally bright and have a lot of shimmer.
I tapped each bottle across my images allowing a little of the powder to sprinkle across the flowers. A little goes a long way with these powders. Once I had some powders across all the flowers, I spritzed each of them with water. The water activates the powders and creates some gorgeous, vibrant, shimmery color. I allowed the water to move the color around on the paper. In places that were turning a “yucky” color I grabbed a rag, soaked up the color in that spot, and sprinkled more of the powder to replace it.
Once my flowers had dried, I took more powder and sprinkled it onto my glass work surface. I spritz a tiny amount of water and grabbed my paint brush and began pickup up some of that color and brush it onto the flowers in areas that didn’t have much color. After I was happy with the look of the flowers, I set them aside to dry and later die cut them with the coordinating Breezy Blossoms die set.
To create my backgrounds, I cut one piece of cardstock with the Quilted Flower background from Neenah 110lb Solar White cardstock. For the other, I used the Quilted Flower background die and an embossing mat to emboss the flower pattern into my salmon-colored cardstock. I really love being able to get so many versatile looks from one background die.
For my die cut flower background I used a piece of purple paper and backed the die cut piece.
On the embossed background, I used the chevron border die from the Wavy Slimline Border set and cut the piece twice to create a chevron look. The negative space would give me space to stamp, and heat emboss the sentiment Bloom with Grace. I backed my embossed piece with some black cardstock after I stamped, and heat embossed the sentiment on it.
For my other card background, I stamped, and heat embossed the sentiment “something beautiful is on the horizon” onto a piece of scrap cardstock. Next, I stamped the little wavy border from the Strawberry Vine stamp set and heat set it with purple embossing powder and cut it out with the coordinating die.
I popped the sentiment and flower onto the die cut Quilted Flower background die cut piece.
On the salmon-colored card, I added some pearls in a matching color. For the other card, I added some little gems in some of the flower’s centers on the background.
I am so excited about the beautiful, vibrant colors of these flowers and the way that the cards pop. The Breezy Blossoms is so much fun and I will be making many more cards using this set in the future.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you’ve enjoyed today’s cards. I have linked all of the products Dare 2B Artzy products I’ve used today.
Hugs,
Tonya
