Hi there Dare 2B Artzy fans! It’s Tonya from Krafty Enchantments and I’m back today with a quick and easy card that could be modified to use for any occasion.
My card uses the new 2017 Dare 2B Artzy Leaf Background Die. This die is so pretty and so intricate. I fell in love with it when I first saw it. I can see several different ways to use this die and today I’m going to show you one way to make a really quick card that is really gorgeous.
This Leaf Background Die actually comes with 3 separate layers. The outer layer which is a stitched rectangle die is just a smidge shy of an A2 size. The inner layer consists of the intricate leaf die panel and then there is a smaller single leaf that measures 2 ¾ x 2. Each of the dies in this set can be used together for the look I’m showing you today or you can use them as stand-alone dies which offers a lot of variety.
To start I used the Leaf Background Die and die cut a piece of pink cardstock. I will say that since the die is so intricate I had to cut it a couple different times using a bit of different pressure the second time to cut completely through the paper. A trick to try if you’re having issues cutting with your dies is to use wax paper between the die and the paper which can really help with intricate dies, another thing that works is a dryer sheet if your desperate and don’t have any wax paper on hand.
Next, I used the stitched rectangle die to cut a piece of the Dare 2B Artzy Medallion Bliss paper.
Finally, I used a piece of white cardstock and cut the small leaf. Once it was cut I stamped the You are Simply Wonderful sentiment from the Dare 2B Artzy Blissful Blooms stamp set using some Versamark ink. I heat embossed it with some shimmery embossing powder in a shade called Desert Moon Turquois.
I also cut a piece of greenish blue cardstock with a scalloped border die as it paired perfectly with my Dare 2B Artzy rectangle die to give a bit of a lacy scalloped edge to my base layer.
With everything cut I was able to assemble all the layers using permanent glue runner tape and then for the intricate top layer I actually used sheer liquid glue because I didn’t want to risk tearing the layer with my glue runner tape.
I wanted to add a bit of shimmer to my top layer so I used some clear Wink of Stella and went over all areas of the intricate leaf die and it gave it a nice sparkle.
To finish I added some matte white embellishments. I felt that they kind of make the white dots on the Medallion Bliss paper really pop forward a bit more.
This super simple card could be used for any occasion and the beauty of the die cut leaf in the design is that you can fit most any sentiment stamp on there. I just love the versatility of this die for making lots of fun cards. I’m sure I’ll have more to show in the future with this die as I came up with a few fun ideas for this die.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful day!
