Hello and welcome, Dare 2B Artzy Fans.
Tonya here from Krafty Enchantments to share a fun project with you!!
I will be the first person to admit that I do not have a green thumb at all!! My mom can grow the most beautiful flowers and plants in her garden but unfortunately I didn’t inherit any of that green thumb. However, I do love to take pictures of gorgeous flowers. My phone has all kinds of random pictures of flowers on it and many are from my mom’s beautiful garden.
The first thing I thought of when I saw the Be There and Be Square stamp set was my flower pictures and I knew I wanted to play with this set. I wanted the stamps to appear is if they were in one of my photographs.
This set designed by the amazing Tracy Weinzapfel and features six stamps, one of which is blank so you can draw in your own image. How fun is that when you’re feeling Artzy!?! Each stamp is 1-3/4 x 1-3/4 inches.
I found some cute unpainted wooden polaroid-type frames at a local craft store that happened to be the perfect size for the stamps.
The frames were prepped with a coat of white gesso and then painted with some white semi-glossy acrylic paint.
I colored the cute flowers and swirly heart with my Copic markers and then measured and cut them down to fit the frames. I glued the painted white frames to the front of each of the stamped images.
For my sentiment, I used the Life is the Art of Drawing without using an Eraser from the Tangle Jumpstart 1 stamp set. I love this sentiment especially paired with an artistic card or project. I stamped it with some Versamark and heat embossed it with a really pretty Carnelian colored embossing powder. To finish my sentiment I die cut it using a pinking edge die.
To assemble the card I layered some of the beautiful salmon pink paper from the Dare 2B Artzy Artzy Doodles variety paper pack. I cut it down and die cut a dotted line for added interest down each side of the paper. I layered it on top of a hot pink cardstock. Finally I added a couple of strips of orange paper from east to west and then centered my picture frames with the stamped images on top using a bit of dimensional foam on the back to pop them off the page a bit. The whole thing was then layered onto a 110 lb white cardstock for my card base.
I added one pink textured gem next to my sentiment as a final touch.
This card was so much fun to do and it absolutely brings to mind my flower photographs. I love it when I’m able to take a stamp and add dimensional pieces to the card design to create visual interest and a personal touch.
I’m planning to give this card to my mom as it’s nearly Spring and I know she’ll be hard at work planting and growing some gorgeous flowers in her garden soon. I’ll be there to capture them in photographs.
Hope you enjoyed this card. Be sure to take some time to check out the Dare 2B Artzy store. There’s a ton of stamps similar to the Be There and Be Square that I used today to inspire you to create many fun projects for Spring. Be sure to check out the entire line of Totally Tracy stamps and then check out Tracy’s blog for fun ideas and inspiration on how to use her stamps.
Be sure to check back on the Dare 2B Artzy blog and also here on my blog on Sunday, March 6th as we have a fun challenge coming up that you won’t want to miss.
Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty day!
