Hello friends! Can you believe we’re in the month of August?! While 2020 has been a challenging year, there are times we can/should allow ourselves to celebrate. [For me] this year, I’ve recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, our daughter graduating from middle school, and a milestone birthday! My most recent cause for celebration is because I was selected to be on the design team!!! How excited and honored am I to be one of the newest Design Team Members for Dare 2B Artzy. I hope my card creations offer you inspiration; and I commit to creating quality content as I Dare 2B Artzy!
With today’s card project, I thought I’d introduce myself by starting with a simple “hello” to all of you! My name is Danielle and I’ve enjoyed card making for 8+ years. Like many, my crafting journey began with scrapbooking. Prior to the pandemic, I attended both one day and overnight crops, which is where I made a few of my crafty friends. I work full time, as a Cloud IT Manager, so I have to make time for crafting mostly Friday through Sunday. Often when I craft, I’m watching the Hallmark or Hallmark Movie & Mystery channel. I don’t know if I have a “style” when it comes to card making. However, one of my most favorite techniques is ink blending. You’ll learn more over the next few months … for now, let’s get to the card.
Today’s card project is pretty simple in design. I start with a standard A2 size card base with a top fold. The first layer is black card stock, leaving 1/8 inch border on all sides. The top layer is where I masked half of the card (diagonally). On the bottom half, I used the Dare 2B Artzy Swirl Stencil where I ink blended this teal color. I added about 1/4 inch black strip of card stock over the stencil blend to enhance the look.
For the top half of the design, on a separate piece of white cardstock, I ink blended and die cut the scripted hello using the Dare 2B Artzy hello die cut. To add dimension, I die cut the scripted hello 3x more and layered. After adhering the sentiment to the top half of the card, I added black drop embellishments to add interest. Simple, yet pretty, right?
